Notes - My Father Was A Collier Lad..

"My Father Was A Collier Lad was written in the early 1970s.

It was the signature of 'JACOB'S WELL', a folk group I formed with Dave Hughes,Corinne Jarvis and occasional input from Paul Proctor. We were all young people with dreams. We recorded 'Collier Lad' at BBC Radio Leeds, and also took a live studio interview. We had never been in a studio before, so we were all very excited.

Of Course in the end we all went our separate ways. Young Paul eventually joined the Army metamorphosing from spotty teen to Arnie Swarzenegger aspiring PTI in the space of a year! Dave continued to play in the Waggoners Folk Group, and still shows up occasionally nowadays. Corinne (Who had originally been in the touring production of 'Hair') Married a jazz saxophonist so I am told, and sang for many years. Today it's all a distant memory.
